Cowboys vs Commanders inactives: Chuma Edoga is out
The final inactives of the season are out for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys are in the 11th hour of what’s been a dismal season, with one game left to go against their rival Commanders. Washington is playing to win for playoff seeding purposes, but the Cowboys are expected to play several backups in this one. Now, with the inactives list released, we have a more clear picture of who they’ll be rolling with.
The Cowboys came into the game with just four players holding a game designation: Chuma Edoga, Nick Vigil, Donovan Wilson, and Mazi Smith. Of those four, only Edoga is inactive. The expectation is that Tyler Guyton will make his first start at left tackle since Week 12.
Also on the inactives list are Damone Clark, Tyrus Wheat, Justin Rogers, Earnest Brown IV, and Will Grier. Brown was recently signed off the Buccaneers practice squad, while Grier was one of two elevations from the practice squad for this game. He will be the emergency quarterback with the expectation that Trey Lance will start, or at least play significant snaps in this game.
As for the Commanders, they come into this game missing several key players. Star cornerback Marshon Lattimore was ruled out earlier in the week, while Tyler Biadasz and tackle Cornelius Lucas were both doubtful. All three are inactive, although Austin Ekeler is playing in this game for the first time since the last time these teams met, after suffering a concussion late in the game.
