Cowboys Reacts Survey: Trading Micah Parsons has popped up this week
There have been a lot of things said about Micah Parsons this week.
As the Dallas Cowboys 2024 football season drags on to its inevitable end in a few weeks, thoughts of the fanbase, media and others have already shifted toward the 2025 offseason. Sure, the team has three more games left, including against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night, but the idea of the season going any further than Week 18 has been lost for a while.
One of the big topics for the 2025 offseason is whether the Cowboys will get a deal done with Micah Parsons. Last summer we saw what happened with the contracts of CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott. They took all offseason. That scenario could play out again. Or the Cowboys could end up waiting and then franchise tagging Parsons after 2025.
There is a third scenario that has come up, the idea of restocking the roster through draft picks acquired by trading Parsons. That idea was asked of Stephen Jones and his answer sent a minor shockwave through the Dallas media since he didn’t absolutely shut the door on the idea.
“Obviously we’re totally all in on Dak and CeeDee,” Jones told NFL.com, “but after that, then you still shape things, including Micah. But Micah’s a great player. You don’t do well in this league letting guys like Micah, usually, leave the house.”
That word “usually” is what sent tongues wagging. Could the Cowboys actually be considering the idea? Jerry Jones quickly stepped in and said they have not been contemplating trading Parsons. Still, the idea seems to have been floated. Parsons contract will likely be the biggest non-QB contract in NFL history. We know how the Cowboys hate spending that cash.
So that left it to us, to ask you, would you even consider trading Parsons? It’s not something team’s usually do, trading a generational talent still to hit their prime, but it has happened before. Without laying out any parameters like what they could get back in draft resources, would you even consider it?
