Cowboys WR hierarchy beginning to take shape for 2024

The Cowboys receiver competition is always one of the more entertaining battles to watch. With padded sessions limited and contact kept to a minimum, practices often resemble flag football more than an actual NFL event. It’s the perfect environment for receivers to shine.

The Cowboys have a handful of young WRs taking this opportunity to do just that. CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks may have their spots locked down but behind them it’s a wide-open competition. Since most teams operate primarily out of 11 personnel (3 WR sets), Dallas has a starting gig up for grabs this season and very likely a second post open in 2025 when Cooks becomes a free agent.

With three preseason games still on the docket, things are far from settled in this roster battle, but some cream has certainly risen to the top. The Cowboys could keep up to six WRs on their final 53-man roster. The question is if camp ended today, who would make the cut?
