We countdown the days to kickoff giving you an interesting fact about each number. Today is number 94.
We are at day 94 of our 99 day countdown until the regular season. Here is your daily fact associated with number 94.
On January 30th, 1994, the Cowboys reached the peak of their power and defeated the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVIII.
The loss for the Bills was the second consecutive loss to the Cowboys in the Super Bowl and they became the only team to lose four consecutive Super Bowls giving the team an 0-4 record. That record still stands today, and Super Bowl XXVIII was the Bills last Super Bowl appearance.

The game itself was held at the Georgia Dome, Atlanta and was the first and only time two teams have faced each other in consecutive Super Bowls. As the game started it looked as though Buffalo would get revenge on the Cowboys and held a 13-6 score at halftime. But the second half would see that all change. The Cowboys defense tightened up and allowed zero points for the remainder of the game as well as taking a fumble recovery for a touchdown in the third quarter.

The Bills watched as the game slipped away with Emmitt Smith running for 132 yards and scoring two touchdowns. His first touchdown involved an insane eight-play drive where Smith was the ball-carrier on seven of those plays. The next touchdown came after some expert defending by Dallas to get the ball back on the Bills 34-yard line. Troy Aikman made a vital pass to Alvin Harper which set up the team in scoring position. On fourth-and-goal the team went for it and Smith did what he did best and punched it in from the one-yard line.
Emmitt Smith would go on to win Super Bowl MVP and was the second running back to rush for over 100-yards in a Super Bowl. Smith also became the first player to lead the league in rushing yards, win the NFL Most Valuable Player Award, and win Super Bowl MVP all in the same season. He was the fourth player to win both league MVP and Super Bowl MVP in the same year.
