Dak Prescott ties Tony Romo for Cowboys passing touchdown record
Tony Romo has company.
When Tony Romo retired he did so as the Dallas Cowboys all-time leader in passing touchdowns with 248. Current quarterback Dak Prescott began Sunday’s game against Washington needing 3 touchdowns to tie Romo and late in the third quarter… he got it.
Prescott is, obviously, a touchdown away from passing Romo and when he throws his next one he will be the Dallas Cowboys franchise leader in a number of passing categories:
- Touchdowns
- Yards
- Completions
- Pass Attempts
- Completion Percentage
It goes without saying that Prescott has played in an era where passing is more pronounced than the days of Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman, but it also goes without saying that he is an incredibly accomplished player within franchise history. Clearly that means mostly in the regular season.
Should Dak be the quarterback responsible for breaking The Drought™… on top of all of these accolades, it also feels safe to say that he would (hypothetically) occupy a very unique place in franchise lore.
Congratulations to Dak Prescott! One more.
