How the Cowboys can make recent history on Saturday night
The Dallas Cowboys made a bit of history with their preseason win last week. To be clear, wins and losses in the preseason are hardly the most important thing, but winning is obviously cooler than losing.
By beating the Seattle Seahawks the Cowboys started off a preseason 1-0 and did so for the first time since 2017. It really is amazing that in almost a decade this never happened.
Well there is another potential point of history to fall should the team win this week. Starting the preseason off 1-0 means that the Cowboys have the potential to double their win total with a 2-0 start. Do you know when the last time was that the Cowboys were 2-0 to start the preseason? It’s been even longer.
It was in 2007 when the Cowboys beat the Denver Broncos (after beating the Indianapolis Colts in the preseason opener) that the franchise was last 2-0 in the preseason. Look at these photos!
The 2007 season in general was among the more magical throughout the duration of The Drought™ so it is always nice to see it brought to the front of conversation.
Perhaps the Cowboys will have a similar level of success this season should they start this preseason off 2-0 as well.
