It has been a minute since we had a good rumor, but Wednesday brought a juicy one. Von Miller, NFL free agent pass rusher extraordinaire, posted an edit of himself in a Dallas Cowboys uniform to his Instagram story. You can see it here.

Things like this happen all of the time when it comes to the Cowboys. They are the biggest draw in professional sports. Connecting yourself to them can be beneficial. Again, tale as old as time on some level.

But this is a little different. Miller is a Dallas dude. He played, and starred, nearby at Texas A&M. It makes sense to believe that he has a desire to play for the team.

Thankfully, we actually do know Miller’s stance on the matter beyond this post. It just so happened that I interviewed Von on Monday, about 48 hours before this post began to go viral, due to his partnership with Raising Cane’s and their sponsorship of the Sack Summit that he is a part of.

“It would be… it would be great to be a Dallas Cowboy. Raising Cane’s is is a sponsor of the Dallas Cowboys, you know it’s it’s great to have, you know a owner and founder like Todd Graves to invest you know in in the future of the future generation of football. Todd has become a great friend of mine. You know we had a ton of fun you know working together this year. We went to the Kentucky Derby, F1, we went to the Croatia World Cup where they played England. Todd had a suite at at at Cowboy Stadium. It was amazing, he always brings people together and it’s always great to have great experiences like that with Todd and all of the interesting people that he brings around. He’s he’s been amazing, I had a I had a blast at the Fanatics Flag Football game as well with Todd Graves. I think he had a team I was on the Cane’s team so you know it’s just been amazing.”

“And you know playing for the Dallas Cowboys… that’d that’d even further our relationship with with Raising Cane’s and Todd. So I’ve always, I grew up here in Dallas. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the Dallas Cowboys… if I played for the Dallas Cowboys this year I… I only have to drive 20 minutes to work. My mom and dad… this would be the first time that my mom and dad don’t have to fly to every single game. My mom has been to every single game that I’ve ever played in and she’ll be able to drive to all the home games and you know I got so many family members here. My kids are here. My family is here, girlfriend is here. Everybody’s here. It’d just be easy to to to work it out so you never really know… you know we talked about that magnetic field in College Station. Maybe the magnetic field here in in Dallas will get me there. So I would I would love to play for the Dallas Cowboys and it’d be amazing.”

This could all be a bunch of nothing. Maybe Miller is just trying to manifest. Or maybe he believes this is actually happening. Maybe he knows. By the way the “magnetic field” was a part of our discussion of his time at A&M if that isn’t obvious.

What do you believe?
