Micah Parsons says CeeDee Lamb might be the best wide receiver he's ever seen
Micah Parsons spoke glowingly of CeeDee Lamb.
CeeDee Lamb has been excellent for the Dallas Cowboys since he was drafted in the first round in 2020. He surpassed 100 receptions for the third consecutive season in the Cowboys Week 16 win over the Tampa Buccaneers. Also, he managed to reach the 1,000 yard mark the week before for the fourth straight year.
Unfortunately for Lamb, the Cowboys shut him down for the final two games of the season due to his lingering shoulder injury. However, before it was announced, All-Pro Micah Parsons paid Lamb quite the compliment.
He might be the best receiver I’ve seen. He’s QB-proof. I’ve seen him get 1,000 (yards) with Andy Dalton. I’ve seen him get 1,000 with Dak Prescott. I’ve seen him get 1,000 with Cooper Rush.
You give grace to all these other wide receivers and say they’re not producing because they don’t have their quarterback. CeeDee has shown time and time again that he can do it with anybody throwing him the ball.
Lamb posted 101 receptions for 1,194 yards before he was put on the shelf. It's key to remember that starting quarterback Dak Prescott hasn't played since Week 9 due to a torn hamstring. However, like Parsons mentioned, 2024 isn't the first time Lamb has been ultra-productive without Prescott.
During Lamb’s rookie year, Prescott missed the final 11 games with a compound fracture and dislocation of his ankle. It didn't stop the former Oklahoma Sooner from hauling in 74 passes for 935 yards and five scores. Lamb was without Prescott for five games in 2022 due to a broken thumb. He was still able to have his first season over 100 receptions as well as his first All-Pro nod. Then there's this season where Lamb logged seven games without Prescott. Despite this, he hauled in 48 receptions over that span.
That makes 23 games that Lamb has played without Prescott in his career. Yet, he's still a nightmare for opposing defenses to handle. Having a connection with a starter is one thing, but to do it with multiple backups says a lot about Lamb and the work he puts into being one of the NFL's best receivers.
