Cowboys 2024 rookie report: Rookie class made an impact
Cowboys rookies are really starting to thrive.
The Dallas Cowboys played the Carolina Panthers and put on a huge show of force, dominating the game from start to finish and in all three phases of the game. How did the Cowboys rookie class help in that major victory? Let’s dive in.
OT Tyler Guyton
The Cowboys had their 2024 first-round pick benched to start the game. Some of that was down to injury, but it didn’t take long for him to take to the field. Chuma Edoga started at left tackle but he was taken off the field with an injury early in the game, and Guyton went in. Edoga was okay and eventually had to replace T.J. Bass at guard because of injury.
From the point Guyton took back his left tackle spot, he actually had a really good game. He allowed only one pressure all game and made zero penalties. Against the Carolina Panthers pass rush, Guyton was solid and he played one of his better games all season.
DE Marshawn Kneeland
Kneeland had a splash play early when he retrieved the ball when Bryce Young fumbled it on the Panthers first drive. This would be the first turnover of four that Young would have on the day. Other than the fumble recovery, Kneeland was quiet for the rest of the day.

LB Marist Liufau
It was none other than Marist Liufau who punched the ball free in a tremendous athletic play on the turnover referenced above that Kneeland recovered. The last few weeks has seen Liufau explode in his role and impress. He added five tackles and one tackle for loss on the day.

TE Brevyn Spann-Ford
Ford played 22 snaps on offense with 18 of those coming in as an extra blocker. He did make one reception for two yards, but his focus was on helping Rico Dowdle have another 100-yard rush day.
