Cowboys at Commanders inactives: Zack Martin, Trevon Diggs out
DaRon Bland is officially ACTIVE for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys are getting closer to kickoff for their first of two games with the Commanders, led by their former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and featuring a handful of former Cowboys players and coaches. But a long list of Cowboys won’t be taking the field for this one, made official with the release of the inactives list for today.
Zack Martin, who suffered an ankle injury late in last week’s game, will be inactive for this game. So, too, will Trevon Diggs after the star corner aggravated a knee injury in practice earlier this week. Neither player made the trip to Washington. Tyler Smith will be inactive as well, popping up on the injury report this week with a knee injury and missing practice until Friday, where he was limited.
Also inactive is Jake Ferguson, who left last week’s game early with a concussion and was ruled out for this one early in the week. Additionally, the Cowboys will be without Caelen Carson, Deuce Vaughn, and Tyrus Wheat, all of whom are healthy scratches.
The good news is that DaRon Bland will be making his season debut. Bland had yet to play this year after initially starting the season on the injured reserve and then reaggravating his injury once he returned to practice.
As for the Commanders, they continue to be without Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who the team traded for at the deadline. Lattimore has yet to make his Commanders debut after dealing with a minor injury.
