Cowboys 55-Man Roster Moves: Prescott IR decision made, Week 11 elevations at TE, CB
The Dallas Cowboys have finally pulled the trigger on Dak Prescott’s roster spot. A hamstring injury knocked the franchise quarterback out of their Week 9 loss and it was determined pretty quickly that he wasn’t re-entering that contest. And while there was some lightning-in-a-bottle hope that additional opinions could carve out the possibility he could return in 2024 by avoiding surgery, those hopes were dashed as well. The only remaining decision is when the Cowboys would free up his roster spot, and the answer is now known; six hours before kickoff in Week 11.
With the Cowboys gearing up to host the Houston Texans at AT&T Stadium, Dallas has moved Prescott to the Reserved/Injured list, opening up a spot prior to the game. It will be filled by CB Josh Butler, who is being promoted from the practice squad. Those are two of four moves the club made, also elevating DB Kemon Hall and TE Princeton Fant.
