DaRon Bland is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a stress fracture in his foot.
The regular season begins in just about two weeks for the Dallas Cowboys, but when it does they are going to be without one of their top players.
Word broke on Saturday afternoon about 90 minutes before the preseason finale against the Los Angels Chargers that cornerback DaRon Bland has a stress fracture in his foot and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Eight weeks from now would put us in Week 6 of the regular season which is the final game before Dallas’ Week 7 bye. It stands to reason that they may ride things out through then, but obviously that remains to be seen.
Bland very notably set the NFL record for most interceptions returned for a touchdown last season. He is tied with Rasul Douglas for the second-most interceptions across the league since 2021 with only his teammate Trevon Diggs having more.
Diggs himself is returning from a torn ACL suffered at the beginning of last season and many were excited about the prospect of seeing the two work the outside portions of the field as a duo for the first time. We will now have to wait for that debut.
Dallas has seen rookie Caelen Carson really impress to date, but has no real obvious option to fill Bland’s spot opposite of him. They traded Nahshon Wright to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Andrew Booth and those Vikings recently signed Stephon Gilmore who would have been a logical answer at this point in time.
