BREAKING: Dallas Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb reach agreement on historic extension
The Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement with CeeDee Lamb on a historic extension tying him to the team for the foreseeable future. They finally did it.
At long last it is over. CeeDee Lamb is back where he belongs.
Word broke on Monday that the Dallas Cowboys and their star wide receiver have agreed to terms on a historic extension. It is a four-year deal worth $136M with $38M included as a signing bonus, the largest ever for a wide receiver.
ESPN Sources: Cowboys and All-Pro WR CeeDee Lamb reached agreement today on a record four-year, $136 million deal that now makes him the second highest-paid non-QB in NFL history. The deal includes a $38 million signing bonus, the largest ever given to a wide receiver.

Lamb has been holding out to this point in training camp in hopes of the deal that he just received. He is coming off of career highs in every major statistic and has been a dream of a first-round draft pick for the team (2020). Needless to say this always made sense for the Cowboys to do and at long last they have done it.
There had been a variety of reports to this point in the process about CeeDee and potentially netting a deal in the neighborhood of the one that Justin Jefferson received from the Minnesota Vikings. He is certainly in the same neighborhood, if not in the house next door. While CeeDee did come in just south of Jefferson he has received the richest non-quarterback contract in Dallas Cowboys franchise history and the second-largest in that sense in NFL history which is certainly significant.
With their star wide receiver locked up and ready to return to the team as preparations begin for the season opener, the Cowboys can turn their attention towards getting another deal done whether that is with quarterback Dak Prescott or pass rusher Micah Parsons. Given the state of Prescott and Parsons in terms of where they are in their respective contracts, Dak makes the most sense.
Congratulations are in order for CeeDee Lamb. This was incredibly well-deserved.
Number 88 is home.
