We are at day 51 of our 99 day countdown until the regular season. Here is your daily fact associated with number 51.
The Dallas Cowboys have scored the highest number of points in a Thanksgiving Day game, with a total of 51 points, making it the largest margin of victory on Thanksgiving in NFL history.
The match took place at Texas Stadium during Week 13 of the 1980 regular season. The Cowboys competed against the struggling Seattle Seahawks, who only managed to win four games that season and did not secure a victory for the rest of the year after their Week 7 triumph over the New York Jets.
Seattle proved to be no match for the Cowboys, who had emerged victorious in four of their previous five games. Throughout the first three quarters of the game, Dallas dominated, leaving Seattle unable to find a solution to what would ultimately result in a significant embarrassment for them.

Tony Hill scored first with an 18-yard pass from Danny White, followed by a safety for Dallas, quickly giving them a 9-0 lead in the first quarter. The Cowboys then scored another six touchdowns, making it their highest score in the annual holiday game. Running back Tony Dorsett, acquired by the Cowboys through a trade with the Seahawks in 1977, contributed 151 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. The game was nearly a complete shutout, except for a last-minute touchdown by Seattle courtesy of a two-yard pass from Jim Zorn. The final score was 51-7.
Dallas completed the regular season with a 12-4 record. They excelled with an 8-0 record at home and a 4-4 record on the road. Their season concluded with a loss in the NFC Conference Championship to the Philadelphia Eagles.
