The Dallas Cowboys are fighting history if they want another double-digit win season.

The dog days of the offseason are upon us. With not much action to speak of, fans and media alike will focus on various storylines for the upcoming season to fill the space. When it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, there never seems to be a shortage of storylines to discuss. From Dak Prescott and his contract, to CeeDee Lamb being absent for much of the offseason in search of a new deal—Dallas certainly has a flare for the dramatics.

With everybody focused on the specifics, let’s take a big-picture view of the upcoming season and discuss the expectations for this year's version of the Cowboys.

Over/Under 10.5 wins for the Cowboys in 2024

They may not get everything right, but typically when it comes to being in the know, Las Vegas bookmakers are usually on point. As it stands several books have the Cowboys projected with a win total of 10.5, setting up an interesting conversation for the 2024 season.

The number is certainly not random. Las Vegas takes in everything from the offseason the team has had, to the tough slate of games on the docket that has the Cowboys tied for 12th in strength of schedule going into the season. Given all that information, 10.5 wins is the mark set by Vegas, a little below their three consecutive 12-win seasons.

Heading into a season with question marks at many key positions, and both a QB and head coach with uncertain futures, could this be the season the Cowboys hit the reset button?

As wild as that may seem to some franchises, if the Cowboys were to show any signs of regression in the regular season this year, coupled without having any playoff progress, even at 10 or even 11 regular season wins, that becomes a real possibility.

Cowboys Nation is a fanbase that is starved for playoff success, and has lost its patience while adopting a cautious attitude toward a team that it desperately wants to buy into. The optimism is at a justifiably low rate for a team that is 36-15 in the last three years, and while it has never been about just playoff appearances, Cowboys fans have graduated to a sense of expectation that they haven't seen since the early 90s.

With so much on the line in 2024, one thing is clear—It’s time to put up or shut up. So with that in mind BTB, what say you?

How many wins do you have the Cowboys finishing with in 2024?
