Last year, against the Detroit Lions in a very controversial game, Prescott sprinkled a little magic on a third-and-13 play from the Cowboys own eight-yard line. Dak somehow avoided the sack and potential safety when Derrick Barnes came raging through the offensive line. Thanks to Dak’s determination and willingness to stay up he avoided the sack with a shift of his body, bounced off Tyler Biadasz and scrambled right toward an open area. From there he scanned downfield, winds up and makes an off-platform throw to a wide open CeeDee Lamb who makes the easy catch and jogs downfield for the score. The 92-yard play was the first and only touchdown in the league to go over 90 yards in the 2023 season.

Lamb tied Hall of Famer Michael Irvin’s single-season franchise record for catches in a season (111) with this catch. He would later surpass the record in the second quarter.

The game itself ended in much debate after a penalty was called on the Lions due to an ineligible receiver on the final two-point conversion play that would have basically given the Lions victory. The Cowboys snuck away with the win and extended their home-win streak to 16 games.
Dan Campbell admits the Lions were trying to confuse the Cowboys as to which lineman was actually eligible on two-point play. The problem is that the Lions also confused the referee. https://t.co/zzTPcLEYh3

Jimmy Johnson was also inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor at halftime. Something that every fan and reporter would agree was long overdue and was a great, emotional moment in Cowboys history.
The Cowboys and Lions face each other this upcoming season for a rematch in Week 6.
