There’s been a lot of back and forth speculation regarding Dak Prescott’s next contract. The latest news suggests the plan is clear.

On the surface it’s hard to believe that the Dallas Cowboys have prioritized Dak Prescott and his long-term future this offseason. With the lack of contractual movement, and the months of speculation surrounding the ‘‘will they or won’t they” nature of the whole thing, it would lead you to believe that this deal may not seem imminent. Such events have sparked discourse among the NFL world debating what may happen.

However, if you take the Cowboys decision makers word at face value, they’re saying things publicly that would indicate they want Prescott in their future. Without a deal it’s all just speculation at this point, but at least one NFL insider is being told the Cowboys’ brass’ stance on the matter is clear.

Cowboys’ All-In on Dak Prescott

Actions speak louder than words, so the skepticism that Jerry and Stephen Jones have received during this time is warranted. No deal in place will cause questions to be raised. However, according to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys are still ‘all in’ on signing Dak long-term.

On the latest episode of ESPN’s NFL Live, Fowler spoke about the Dak situation and where the team is at with the whole thing.

“They are all-in on re-signing Dak Prescott eventually, they just haven’t shown it yet,” Fowler starts. “I’m told behind the scenes they made clear that they don’t want him to hit free agency in 2025, they want him to be the quarterback of the future, but there negotiations have been described to me as passive…”

“Some time this summer they’re going to have to ramp up the heat a little bit, come with a strong offer, get the ball going, but they made clear that they’re going to do that, they’re just slow playing it a little bit…”

Despite the back and forth and difference of opinion shared among Cowboys Nation, the constant feeling from those in the know have been unwavering about what they’re hearing regarding Prescott and his future in Dallas.

Prescott is a consensus top 10 QB in the NFL coming off the best statistical regular season of his career, in most cases re-signing a player like that would be universally accepted. However, with another failed attempt in the playoffs fresh on the mind it has skewed public opinion.

At the end of the day no matter how the fans feel about Prescott, and where you fall on the idea of locking him up long-term, it’s clear the Cowboys still believe in their QB and fans should prepare themselves for a deal to get done. The only question left now is when?
