40 Recently-released free agent Cowboys should look into (but probably won't)

The Dallas Cowboys made a signing! Relax, it was Carl Davis, a journeyman nose tackle who spent time with the club last season. With just a few days remaining before the start of the league year, teams are moving in the opposite direction, releasing players in an effort to get under the gaudy 2024 salary cap limit of $255.4 million. Dallas still has a ton of work to do there, as they still sit around $10.6 million over the cap, according to Over The Cap.

The team has to be compliant by 4:00 pm eastern time Wednesday, March 13. Once they get under the threshold, Dallas will then need to create additional room in order to sign free agents to add to their roster. Their moves to this point have hardly seemed to indicate they’ll be all-in, which will disappoint a large portion of their fanbase. That dangling carrot grows with each release other clubs make, which has augmenting the free agent class at a rapid pace.

We’ve already outlined 30 UFAs whom should be of interest to Dallas, but what about the guys who have recently been released? Here’s another round of intriguing possibilities to consider, Street Free Agents, even if Stephen Jones and company won’t.
